Luckily, they have some Russo Bros precedent to fall back on, because it\u2019s not the first time the directing team have published this kind of tease. In 2018, between the releases of <em>Avengers: Infinity War<\/em> and <em>Avengers: Endgame<\/em>, they posted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bn6PyuLgRvy\/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a similar shot<\/a> with exactly the same caption. That mystery ended when an \u201cA\u201d and an \u201cE\u201d were spotted, revealing a hint at <em>Endgame<\/em>\u2019s then-secretive title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\t\r\n\n\t\t<div class=\"ad-dog__cnx-container\"><script id=\"0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796\">\n\t\t\tcnx.cmd.push(function() {\n\t\t\t\tcnx({\n\t\t\t\t\tplayerId: \"106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530\",\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t}).render(\"0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796\");\n\t\t\t});\n\t\t<\/script><\/div>\n\t\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s up to us to decide what those two cheeky chaps are teasing now. Unless the next Avengers movie, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/movies\/avengers-doomsday-who-is-not-the-cast-leaked-concept-art-secret-wars\/\"><em>Avengers: Secret Wars<\/em><\/a>, is changing its title (seems unlikely), there\u2019s something else afoot, and fans have been squinting at every corner of the new image trying to work out what\u2019s what.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"in\" dir=\"ltr\">Avengers Vs X-Men \ud83d\ude4c <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/dX6wgKynHd\">pic.twitter.com\/dX6wgKynHd<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Austin Medeiros (@Austin_Medzz) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Austin_Medzz\/status\/1973074259074261480?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 30, 2025<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Some fans can spot an \u201cA\u201d, a \u201cV\u201d, and some \u201cX\u201d\u2019s across from each other and think that <em>Doomsday<\/em> will see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/movies\/avengers-doomsday-feels-like-the-real-ending-for-the-fox-x-men\/\">Avengers versus the X-Men<\/a>, while others are more interested in the shadowy figure (surely one of the Bros?). A few are even wondering if another announcement is forthcoming, one that reveals <em>Secret Wars<\/em> as a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/lRuxlxhULeY?si=H0V_7QGC340buBR2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two-parter<\/a>, bumping the upcoming Avengers movie total to three. With <em>Secret Wars<\/em>\u2019 epic plot reimagined several times in Marvel Comics through Jim Shooter, Jonathan Hickman, and more, it\u2019s not entirely unthinkable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What we do know is that <em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> is shaping up to be a massive multiversal crossover movie, reuniting the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and key members of the X-Men, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/movies\/robert-downey-jr-doctor-doom-reveal-marvel-protects-its-a-listers\/\">Robert Downey Jr.<\/a> confirmed in the villainous role of Doctor Doom.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over a year to wait until <em>Doomsday<\/em>\u2019s release, there will no doubt be plenty more breadcrumbs to follow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although decoding MCU mysteries and teases is often a fool\u2019s errand (remember when Mephisto absolutely did not show up in WandaVision?), this one is a bit more tangible.
